HOD'S DESK

The department offers a comprehensive range of programs including B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech in Industrial Engineering and Management, Engineering Design, and Data Science, as well as doctoral (Ph.D.) programs. Currently, it hosts over 250 undergraduate students, 36 postgraduates, and 5 Ph.D. scholars. Recognized as a research centre by APJAKTU and affiliated with the NDF scheme, the department is supported by more than 22 faculty members and 23 technical staff. With a strong commitment to holistic education, the department provides a dynamic and enriching learning environment designed to cultivate globally competitive professionals. Students are encouraged to tackle real-world societal challenges, participate in outreach programs, engage in collaborations with industry, and take part in co-curricular and professional development activities beyond the academic curriculum. Over the years, alumni of the department have made significant contributions in leading industries and esteemed academic institutions around the world.

M1. To deliver professional competence by moulding competent mechanical engineers with expertise, endurance and empathy to cater the global need and equip them to pursue higher studies.

  • PO 1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO 2 Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching sustainable conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3 Design and Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4 Conduct Instigations of Complex Problems: Use research based – knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5 Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
