About CASP

Centre for Advanced Signal Processing (CASP) was established at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2011 under the centre of excellence scheme of Centre for Engineering Research and Development (CERD), Government of Kerala. Initially it was named as Advanced Digital Signal Processing Research (ADSPR) lab and was estblished as per order no. CERD/2010/224-CoE 3 dated 31st March 2011. It is located at Room no: 401 of the Electronics Block in the campus. An exclusive research space has been setup using funding from CERD and using funding from Dept. of Information Technology(DIT) for its funded project.

CASP is envisaged to turn RIT to a multi-nodal hub for knowledge seekers and researchers. The growing prominence of research activities in Digital Signal Processing provides ample research opportunities for the prospective researchers. The centre has helped to improve the culture of research among faculty and students. The funded research projects, publications and the student projects reflect the research culture being imparted to the student and staff community of the institution.

Aims & Objectives

  • To integrate various research activities at RIT in the area of Digital Signal Processing
  • To provide a platform for academicians in India and abroad to cooperate in research and development
  • To explore newer avenues of research in signal processing by integrating knowledge from various fields
  • To organize seminars, workshops, conferences in the relevant area on regular basis
