Aspire+ is a platform wherein RITians shall be connected with CGPC with a motto to grow together. Alumni outlook on recruiters/industry, their aspiration, feedbacks and interactions shall help RIT students in making informed career choices.

 

Abhinav Dinesh (CSE'17) - He is interested in front end development. He says "Choose a product company over services companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro. You'll get far better salary and good learning opportunities. The exposure and package is the important thing to look for in a company more than the brand of the company. Look beyond campus placement and start with having an excellent resume. A good resume will open doors which you never expected."

Vishnu K (ME'16) - He is working in manufacturing and automotive sector with interests in LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigm projects, Quality systems(ISO Standards), Production planning etc. He says "Never avoid theory or management subjects like 'principles of mangemnt'. These will be helpful if you are going into a production industry. Not only design jobs are good, Manufacturing Jobs are also enjoyable."

Sneha Dominic (CSE'17) - She is working in IT field with interest in Machine Learning and AI. She says "Life long learning is always a BIG YES. We need to update our knowledge always. We may not be put into a project with a technology we are familiar. It's really important to learn in quickly and slowly master in what you know. Companies are also providing a lots and lots of opportunities to scale up and to reskill. Utilize all those. Choose what you love to do. Whether it be IT field, higher studies, banking sector or public services. You should influence yourself and never be influenced by others decision. Try to learn more about the work culture and practises before joining any company. Connect with seniors for help."

Boney Biju Philip (EE'16) - He is working in energy domain with interest in AI, Data mining, and Cloud computing. He says "If going for IT field, try to get projects on cutting edge new technologies like AI, Data analytics, block chain etc. Everyone should have an understanding of cloud computing mainly Amazon web services. Take as many certification courses as possible on the above mentioned or other new technologies while work and keep updating your CV. Work experience in these areas is crucial even if you are switching to a management career. My career choice was to go for MBA. So for students interested in that make sure you have close to 24 - less than 30 months work experience under your belt before going for MBA. Otherwise it will effect your placements in the Bschool. It will be hard to get shortlists for companies if you don't have any workex. You won't be able to get a shortlist amongst students from IITs and NITs given you are doing your MBA from a good Bschool."

Neeraj K R (CSE'17) -  He is focussing on academics domain with interest in big-data. He says "Be clear about what you aspire and don't do things just for the sake of doing it. If you want to go to higher studies opt for it. Don't attend interviews because everyone is attending and not join after you get the job. You are ruining chances of another candidate."

Bidhov Bizar (EC'16) - He currently post-graduation and is interested in Machine Learning, Distributed Networks. He says "I felt i have wasted my 4 year B.Tech in RIT as the subjects which i learned where no where what is currently required in the field of engineering. I am having trouble with adjusting to the courses in IISc because there is a huge gap between our curriculum. sex shop Lower the bar of the companies that can come to RIT as the norm kept for entry is just package offered during training. It should be modified to package after training."     

Job George K J (ME'16) -  He is currently working Semiconductor manufacturing sector with interest in CFD, Mechatronics and Robotics. He says "Internship and Work exposure is very much needed for any job currently.For a long lasting career we should constantly update the knowledge base and keep on learning. We should find relation of our work specifics and the subjects learned in college." 

Sachu Shaji Abraham (CSE) -  He believes 'Technical Skill', 'Alumni-Student group' and 'Institution plays a great role in his empployability. He says "Give more importance to student projects rather than academics. Most of the companys only tend to use academics as a cutoff and after that they won't even consider it. They check whether the student have done projects out of their acadamics to check their technical skills.Persuade them to attend hackathons, organize workshops, technical events or to join various clubs (bootcamp,foss cell, ieee...etc), it will help them regarfing the personal attributes. If you can arrange interactive sessions from the recruting companies for the students at 1st,2nd year itself to give them the idea about what potensial employers are looking for, I think it would help them to become more focused. Active partcipation in various clubs in our college would suffice."

Abin K Antony (EE'16) -  He is working in automotive design domain. He says "Kindly focus on core companies rather than IT companies. Always keep in touch with the technical stuffs you have gained. Keep an update on latest technological advancements and trends."
